Technology in Real Estate

Technology in the Real Estate marketplace has really taken off in the past 5 years. With the advent of IDX listings, most real estate listings are readily available on many broker websites. Some of which are using RETS technology. I will take time to explain RETS in another entry.
Consumers are being more plugged into the ability to search for real estate on the Internet with more consumers having high speed internet connections. Leads that are being captured has grown to a capacity where managing them has become a problem for many organizations. Having additional staff on had has is not an option in many organizations to scrubb leads and assign them out to a qualified agent. Another problem that has been a constant problem is Lead assignments and accountability with the agents. It has been a problem where the response times for an agent to follow up with a lead has been a problem.

Another problem is with aggregating leads from multiple sources and displaying them in a standardized format through a web interface. Their has been some advanced technologies that have been developed to make this aggregation happen with low costs of maintance.

This article was basically used as an introduction to capture an overview of some of the future discussions.

In the next few weeks I will be discussing some of the tools that have become availiable to help in succeeding in some of the areas.
